When cruising around our site, you get the chance to read the amazing, feel-good stories of our Charity & Business Partners. So now, you are probably wondering what our story is, right? Well, here goes:
Once upon a time, there was a family in sunny Southern California who built up a grand business, for which they had earned great success. But just having business success wasn’t enough for the family... they knew they could do more - by giving back to their community. After all, for over thirty years, they had been a part of school foundations, chaired various charitable events, and raised money for their favorite causes through the normal means of fundraising. (Ok, let’s be honest here... Mom did most of that part with huge support and accolades from the rest of the family.)
One day, with their heads together and working hard as a family, they decided to build something that all charity organizations would find useful (and something that Mom always wished she had) - a fast and easy way to make money for their cause. So they built a storefront, adjacent to their business in Tustin, CA, that held beautiful items for gift giving. The store was a haven for shopping gurus - filled with home items, children’s gifts, lighting, furniture, bath and body products, candles, and much more. In this gift boutique, they decided, 20% of every item sold would be donated back to the charity of the buyer’s choice!
“What an amazing idea!” they said. “To be able to buy a great gift item and help my favorite cause at the same time - it’s a win-win for everyone!”
Local charities came, and the family threw incredible shopping parties for them free of charge. Supporters of the organizations would come, learn about the newest happenings with the non-profit, shop until their hearts were content, and the charities would gain both money and awareness for their cause. But alas, there were still some supporters who could not attend the party... and they were saddened. Thus, the age of technology came to the rescue!
With the development of their e-commerce site (which we are so happy you are visiting right now), the family was able to extend their reach of assistance to other communities, national charities, and even world-wide organizations! This meant that they could serve many more causes and help spread the news of the amazing work that they all did!
And that brings us to present day. The family continues to grow their family philanthropy into something that everyone can enjoy, by sharing the stories and donating money to the causes that are most near and dear to their customer’s hearts.
And with the help of shoppers and do-gooders like you - the family gets to share the story of how to Purchase with a Purpose, and hopefully (with a little luck and a lot of giving) we can all live happily ever after.
